Designers, decorators, architects and antique enthusiasts now only have to come to one place to see some of the most extraordinary textile collections of the 17th, 18th and 19th Century. As seen in the Home section of the New York Times, Antique Textiles Collections, Inc. is fairly new to the Upper East Side, but the DiSciascio name has a strong reputation of excellence throughout the design community for over two decades. When Virginia DiSciascio retired, she sold her business along with her inventory and relocated to her native, Buenos Aires, Argentina.
Virginia’s daughter, Audrey DiSciascio, could not bear to see the family tradition end. A new generation of providing opulent luxury through textiles thus began with Audrey at the helm along with her business partner, Perla Nunez. Ms. Nunez was Virginia’s design assistant and head of her workshop for over 15 years. Together, Audrey and Perla combed the world’s resources for antique textiles and after months of extensive traveling, developed a considerable and eclectic collection.
Antique Textiles Collections, Inc. houses rich crewel work, tapestries, French brocades, Italian embroideries, Greek Isles textiles, needlepoints, batiks, Turkish embroideries, Chinese silks, printed and embroidered Indian textiles and more. In addition, we produce custom design ottomans and benches, pillows; hand reapplied 17th, 18th and 19th embroideries.
Our attention to details, commitment and respect for the client continues to be the best bar none.
